Be cunning, play cunning, and learn how to play craps the ideal way!

Games that use dice and the dice themselves date all the way back to the Crusades, but modern craps is approximately a century old. Modern craps formed from the 12th Century English game referred to as Hazard. Nobody knows for certain the birth of the game, however Hazard is believed to have been made up by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, around the 12th century. It’s theorized that Sir William’s paladins gambled on Hazard amid a siege on the fortification Hazarth in 1125 AD. The title Hazard was gotten from the fortress’s name.

Early French colonizers imported the game Hazard to Nova Scotia. In the 1700s, when displaced by the English, the French relocated down south and located safety in the south of Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they were driven out of Acadia, they brought their favorite game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns simplified the game and made it fair mathematically. It is said that the Cajuns changed the title to craps, which is derived from the term for the bad luck throw of 2 in the game of Hazard, referred to as "crabs."

From Louisiana, the game migrated to the Mississippi riverboats and all over the nation. A great many think the dice builder John H. Winn as the father of modern craps. In the early 1900s, Winn designed the current craps layout. He created the Don’t Pass line so gamblers can bet on the dice to lose. Later, he created the spots for Place wagers and put in place the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
