Be clever, play cunning, and master craps the proper way!

Dice and dice games goes back to the Crusades, but current craps is approximately a century old. Modern craps formed from the ancient English game referred to as Hazard. Nobody knows for certain the origin of the game, but Hazard is said to have been created by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, around the twelfth century. It’s presumed that Sir William’s paladins enjoyed Hazard during a blockade on the fortification Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was acquired from the citadel’s name.

Early French colonizers brought the game Hazard to Nova Scotia. In the 1700s, when exiled by the English, the French headed down south and discovered safety in the south of Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they were driven out of Acadia, they brought their preferred game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns broke down the game and made it more mathematically fair. It’s said that the Cajuns altered the name to craps, which is gotten from the term for the losing throw of two in the game of Hazard, recognized as "crabs."

From Louisiana, the game migrated to the Mississippi barges and throughout the country. A great many acknowledge the dice maker John H. Winn as the founder of modern craps. In 1907, Winn designed the current craps layout. He added the Don’t Pass line so gamblers can wager on the dice to not win. At another time, he invented the spaces for Place bets and put in place the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
